Recently bought an Allis 175 with Bush hog aftermarket loader on it. Plan on mainly using it to cut hay and load round bales with. When I went to look at it I took an old Allis man with me. He uses same model pretty much everyday on his farm and loves it. It’s a Perkins Diesel( like his) but am wondering besides a gear jumper what are the good bad and ugly about this model. Like I said he loves his and hadn’t had no real complaints about it and he’s had his sense new but anybody out there have any issues with there’s? Thanks

Only problem is I can't get her through the front door of my house or else she would probably live with me. She can do no wrong in my eyes!

I love ours. Only thing I can think of is the wiring. I think it was a point in the transition from mechanical gages to electronic where they still had a few bugs. Otherwise they are excellent tractors.

The Perkins will start hard when real cold but sounds like it will be a warm weather used tractor! They are very handy good tractors overall , you,'ll be happy

Not sure what bad you can find, we had one for years, easy to start, plenty of power for the size, I guess the only problem we ever had was the starter not engaging. Loved that tractor/

I grew up running a 175. Considering the abuse and neglect it had on my grandparent's farm, it kept running. My wreckless uncle made it a gear jumper, but that got fixed in the early 1990s and the Perkins engine was rebuilt in the early 2000s. We ran a Dunham Lehr loader on it since it was a year old and moved a lot of round bales with it. Naturally it did a number on the front axle pivot pin - be sure to have a good look at yours. Having the loader on it, it altered the handling and the sight lines, so we always took it off for field work - the quick tach loader helped for that. Since I restored it in 2015, I like it much more!
