where did you find your front pump shaft and coupler that bolts to your front crank pulley?

Posted By: 7060
Date Posted: 10 Jan 2019 at 11:58pm
For the air conditioning I am using an aftermarket underdash ac unit. On the pump setup I went to the local driveline shop looking for a coupler and shaft to make my own crank pulley hub, and he looked in a book and found a hub and 13” shaft that fit.

nice work !!   You have spent many hours on it to change it from junk to like new. I give you an A+ for the paint outfit you are wearing while painting.

7060, what was the filter under the tractor when you were painting?

Posted By: 7060
Date Posted: 11 Jan 2019 at 8:10am
It’s an exhaust fan to suck fumes and mist down so you can see. It has a fan on the outside wall sucking air through the filter. I’ve got other stuff going on at the shop so I decided to work on it in an old garage at my house, but I’m ready to drive it to the shop to set the cab on now.

Looks good. I really like the styling of the D's.

I like seeing pics like this because I will be painting my CA and I was wondering how far I really need to tear it down to look decent after painting.

A-C had an optional front "auxiliary" hydraulic pump that sat inside of the sheet metal. I've only seen pictures of it, but it appears the driveshaft was a 2-wire hydraulic hose of some sort. No Love-Joy coupler on the pump shaft and the pump bolted directly to the holes in the front support. AGCOPARTSBOOKS.com page 238 shows the pump and page 268 shows the driveshaft under D-19 tractor info.

Looks good  when i did mine the love joy did not stand up to hard hyd use so i used a chain coupler on the pump drive for next 4 tractors that i did     not sure what you are planning on for hyd valves but i found 180 or 185 had good valves that are small and compact and stackable i put 3 spools on all mine

I stumbled across the factory pump setup when I was doing research. It wasn’t the GPM I was looking for if I could find a pump to fit there. I wondered what they could be using that they called a flex shaft. I am disapointed to hear about the lovejoy coupler failures. I was going with the chain coupler but the guy at the driveline shop suggested the lovejoy. Maybe I should change that before I get any further. For the valves I cheaped out and got a nortrac 3 spool valve. One for the 3 point and 2 sets of remotes.

Wow excellent pictures, thanks for posting.  What was the bearing number you used for the idler on the A/C belt?  Thanks

Posted By: bradley6874
Date Posted: 12 Jan 2019 at 9:44pm
For the love joy to hold up it needs a bearing in the adapter bracket with the rubber mounts and such a long shaft without ballincing it the swing will beat the rubber out also move the belt for your alt back the shaft side that takes the extra load off the coupler and side pull on a pump isn't good

thank you it looks like a better set up than whats on my i615 I had to weld the shaft to the pulley adapter plate didn't weld strait so I have a wobble and a engine that shakes the other end is a dubble roller chain coupler I would like to redo with a love joy I think I would take out the wobble

Posted By: 7060

The alt doesn’t need much belt tension and I’ve seen those pumps belt driven before so I didn’t think the side load would be an issue. I don’t really have the room to move the alternator back or it will get into the radiator, but I could add a bearing. It will only cost my a coupler, pulley, and a little time though so I may go back to the chain coupler. The idler bearings I used two new ball bearings that I had, actually for the trap slides on a Timpte grain trailer.

From what I've seen, the belt for your AC is not meant to bend backwards like the idler pully makes it do.
Works good for skinny timing belts or serpentine belts.

They do make a belt that doesn't have a flat side.
 Both sides are tapered.
It's meant to bend both ways.
Your idler would need to be a tapered pully like all the others.

The idler was an afterthought I was going to play with. I have another belt 1” shorter that I can eleminate the idler but was afraid of the pulley contact on the compressor. I wanted to try and wrap the belt as much as possible to keep from slipping it.

Don't think I would worry about the idler pulley on the AC, that is on the slack side of it all, and not a stiff bend.

We originally used a love joy coupler when we put a front pump on a WD. It did not hold up and was difficult to replace. We went to the double chain coupler and had no further problems. That was over 20 years ago. We still use the WD.

I’m needing to find a loader for the front cab mount brackets to mount to, so I’ve been working on finishing my 7030 open station. Hopefully there’s another update this week.

What did you do with the hydraulics beside the seat?

Posted By: 7060
Date Posted: 26 Jan 2020 at 12:11am
I gutted the old hydraulic pump, and valves. I added a bigger sump to give it about 2.5 gallons more capacity. I have a new 3 spool double acting valve to go on the right side of the seat. One valve for 3point and the other 2 for remotes, powered by the front mounted pump.

Other than my right door handle and latch on order it is finally finished and ready to move on to the next one. Hopefully I got this picture thing figured out this time. I’m looking for a set of stack weights for the front if anyone has some they would want to bring to the swap meet in Missouri.

I charged it in the 70 degree shop and it blows ice cold, but time will tell once summer comes. My biggest concern was the evaporator unit doesn’t use a filter. The condenser fan I used was meant for a cooling fan on a vehicle radiator and moves a lot of air.

Thats a nice unit, would be a nice hay tractor with the cab and A/C. The 200 has a cab but no a/c and the fan screams when you turn it on lol.
