Funerals and auctions are about the only way to see people anymore.  Guy who passed, Chuck Waneka, was 97, had moved into an assisted living place last year, called it "Four walls".  If he could get a ride to his farm, he'd use his walker to get to his tractor (green ones), hang his walker on the front weights, work his way around to the cab and climb in.  He would run all day, or until somebody came to get him.  Slowed down this summer but still was there for the wheat harvest, his 85th, as his dad passed when he was 7 and he did a lot of work on the farm, started driving to school when he was 10, school was only a mile away, through town.  After the church service they loaded him up on a trailer behind his 4430 and the hired man drove him through town (Lafayette, CO), past his farm back to the cemetery.  Told a couple younger friends of mine to just dump my ashes in one of those broadcast seeders and spread me across my fields.  Guess I won't know if they do that or not....

Sorry to hear of his passing but at least he lived a long life and was able to do what he loved up until close to the end. Taking his final ride in a trailer behind a 4430 was more fitting than riding in a hearse. Hope I can be active up until the end and not spend any time at "Four Walls." Guess when the time comes I will be pickled and buried in my home town next to my daughter, parents, and one set of grandparents.

I told the wife that when I died she should just roll my dead azz out into the street and let Uncle Sam take care of me,,,,,,,like he promised.

Sorry for the loss John, but he's in a better place and happy now.  No more aches and pains and a brand new JD.
