Ran across a 6080 that's stuck in HI on the LO- Intermedent- and HI shifter stick , anyone have this problem ?

Have saw foreign material get on rail and seize it up. MACK

Would a couple light taps of a hammer be advisable? Don't want to break anything tho,, dang its always something!
