I want to replace my coolant temp and oil pressure gauges on my 1955 CA.

Should I look for original NOS or OEM ones, or go aftermarket?

Not sure if the ones on it now are original? They are white faced which I prefer.

Did the originals have any special markings on them that made them unique?

Yes, they are unique to AC...

Note water temp gauge doesn't have the freezing point indicator, on all applications, but the top half is correct, and similar, in all applications...Wink

Ever see an amber faced temp gauge? This one has been this color since I can remember (with more vivid color) and always thought it was neat compared to the others.

re: amber colour
possibly due to 'bad' white  ink( no UV stabs) or drying process. I've got what should be 'ivory' coloured printers in the basement that have turned 'amber' over the years. In the earldays of PC repairs, we used 'Mr. Fantasik' to restore them to their original ivory colour.

OK thanks everyone. Looks like the ones I can get from the vendors that advertise on site here. Perfect!

I recently added a 80 psi oil pressure gauge for my XT. I believe the CA will only require a 30 psi. Guys correct me if I am wrong. Anyway, I try to always go OEM. I just could not pay $122 for it. After market one was $33. Looks like the origional and dealer has had good luck with them. I’m satisfied so far but I have only had it for 3 months.
