The only things I can find searching for Fairbanks Morse and Z are their hit and miss engine and a one cylinder Z impulse coupler.  Flange mount mags from Fairbanks Morse used on Allis Chalmers 4 cylinders were RV4B, FM4B, FMK4B, FMO4B, FMJ4B, and FMX4B.  And the B should be followed by a 3, as FMJ4B3 etc. if it was originally shipped to Allis Chalmers.  Could you show a picture of the mag?

Here's a place where you can get the gears if the timing marks are worn off.

He has a FMZ, Phil. I’m not familiar with it but I suspect that it times the same way.

When did the WC stop using the rv4 mag?

It probably depends on which engine was used at the time.

By the way that chart should be added to the information page.
It has excellent data that can be most helpful
Good Luck!
