Subject: What are the odds

A month ago I bought a 7060 at a farm auction. After a 2 1/2 drive home I started going through things and found the radiator had a small leak along the top seam. Last week I pulled the radiator out and took it to the local repair shop. Then Wednesday he called and said the radiator needed rebuilt. No surprise as he had done that for me last year for the 7045. A week goes by and I hear nothing so my Accountant says call him. I didn't 'cause I was driving so she called. Then I hear "No one called us"..."What do you mean someone already picked it up?" Turns out he called the wrong guy, they came and got it and now he doesn't remember who it was. I asked how they paid for it and there should be a paper trail. I was surprised he'd be working on more than 1 7000 series radiator. There was another maroon radiator in the junk pile but was missing the openings in the bottom tank for the oil cooler and he said that owner was replacing the whole thing.
He's been in business over 40 years and has done many things for me, dad and uncle. I know he's always busy and getting up there in age but this stinks. He said he'd make it right but I don't know how yet and I haven't heard good things about new replacements.
Sorry for the rant. Thanks for listening.

a good radiator man can " build" a radiator........ just need the upper and lower tanks.

IDK if the 7080 will fit. It's not included in the list in the parts books.
But, I got a call from rad guy Friday morning. My radiator has been returned. Seems the the guy who had the 7000 bought a new radiator from another source and did not tell his hired man who then picked up mine by mistake. 7000 owner called rad shop saying there was a mistake and was kind enough to return it when he found out what happened. It is now back home where it belongs.

Not sure, but I don't believe it.... He has your number to tell you it needs a rebuild and doesn't when it's done. In  a short period of time he can't remember and been in business 40 years. And again it's an obsolete radiator. You are taking it better than I would.
The second thing is someone else needs the same thing and picks up and pays for it and he doesn't know who. I smell fish
