I hope somebody can tell me the correct belt size for this L-59 mower on a Model B. I laid out and measured the old broken belt and bought a 220" replacement. Too short. So I sent it back and bought a new 228" belt. Still too short. Not even close to fitting. If someone can tell the correct length, maybe I can avoid a couple of months of buying and returning belts that don't fit.

I have one, but have not had to change the belt.  I always though it was 226" around the outside.  What hole are push the arms in?  Could the deck be moved back?

I agree with HoughMade. I just bought one 2 months ago and it is 226 inch belt.
As he said...it depends on how you have it set up...what holes you have it on as far as the front and back setting is.   Den

B228 is the right belt. If it is too short you need to unpin the frame where it pivots at the rear and move the deck back until it is long enough and stick the pins back in.

The picture looks as though you have yours set forward farther than I set mine.

OK, I'll see if I can move the deck back. Apparently the old belt was oversized. Thanks, all.

Steve, good to see you posting on here again. Still tinkering with the Model A's?

Get the belt from Woods, it will outlast three of the others, and be sure to get the twists in the right places or they don't last very long.

I have not found that to be true Ted. I just replaced a NAPA belt after 6 full seasons and the most I ever got from a Woods belt was two.
