| when that desert dude comes after my chevy allis, I dun gots the new grill to cooks up the vittles on today! I been study'in up on them new flat grill grills, and had settled on if/when I decide to buy one was gonna be the "camp chef" brand. the 4 burner one, cuz if you remove the gridle, there's the grill grates under it. non of the other brands have that. and this one has the best grease drain of all of them too. "blackstone" brand grills are still the most popular, but only cuz about everybody sells them. but everyone complains on the grease drain on them and all have to modify it. plus it don't have the grates and flattop both. but is about $100. cheaper than the "campchef". soooooo….going to the non local farm store to gits new mower blades, and they have this "campchef" grill that I been studi'n on all week! yeah...it's coming home with me, I hafta go gits it tomarrow with the pickup cuz it won't fit in the suburban! sooooo….we are on the way home and gits to the next town when the old lady....oooooops….I mean the loving wife asked....did I see that smoker they had?, it was on sale for $69. WTF? where was it at? she said it was out front of the store with a plant on top of it! PffffT! turned around and went back....yep, was a mastercraft electric smoker with digital controls! that...did fit in the back of the suburban! and yes...I even got the mower blades! |

You will like the Camp Chef, the grates are better for grilling steaks, burgers, pork chops, etc. and the flat griddle for frying sausage, bacon, eggs. You feed that crowd too good though and they might not leave! ------------- Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God. |

When the Wife's stepfather was still livin,,,he would ALWAYS have me a list of jobs to do when we got there,,,at least 3 weeks worth,,,, while he never let on that the jobs list was in exchange for what I ate,,,,I still used to wonder,,,,, Lemme tell youse a true story,,,,One year we went up to visit her family in Nort Dakota,,her younger Brother had a 2 door Studerbaker with a straight 6 and a 4 door with a V8,,,well,,he was a sure enough budding hot Rodder so,,the FIL asked me to help him change out the engines,,I said "No Problems" except,,,,,they didn't have a chain hoist or a gantry,,,nuttin,,, but he DID have an old Ford Dump trk , a forest in back yard,,,and a shade tree mechanic with a "Can Do" attitude,,,, So,,we go fell a nice straight pine tree bout 30' tall, strip the branches, chain it down crossways on the front of the dump bed, drive trk next to the 4 door and chain the V8 to the tree and,,,,,,,and,,,pretty as you please lift thet sucker right outa the engine compartment,,,,
 Do the same for the 6 cylinder and then start shoehorning the V8 into the 2 door,,,,WAIT,,!! By this time we got us a pretty sizeable crowd as FIL lives on main road outside of town,,,CHIT,, them people can't believe their eyes at what we doing and next thing you know somebody breaks for town and go gets a Kegger and then it got goin GOOD,!!!!,,Chit,,I become the Hero of the town,,,we finally managed to finish the Kegger sometime in the mornin and,,I finally passed out pretty happy,,,, |

Dale, you gots a BRAND NEW cattle watering tank we can puts all the ice and beer in?? Otherwise I could throw one of them from Fleet Farm in the back of my truck too... We could just leave it in the bed of the truck,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so's when I get's the urge to leave, I could just drive off with it still in the back. Ted. I don't know why this story popped up in my thoughts, but about 45
years ago, we had gone up to Lake Superior to go smelting, chest waders, smelt nets and a barrel with. Left at about 7pm, got up there and many folk already had their campfires going and we went and ran the nets
until about midnight... but there was one ol boy up there that had a one
man net and he would dip it in the water while holding his beer can in
the hand that went under water... bring the net up and search for the
smelt in it, then grab one and tell the little fishy he was going to
give him a drink of his beer and then pour a little on him and then open
his mouth and swallow that poor little smelt whole, followed by a drink
from the never empty beer can. He was still out there in the waters
when we left trying to give drinks to all the little fishies he could
find. LOL.
