I have a couple of the orange grinders, next step up that I use for light to moderate work and they are still going strong  after ten or so years. Have seen reviews that drillmaster products were definitely cheaper quality.

IF you blow the crud out of the brushes area, most grinders will last a very, very long time.....
OK, everyone raise their hands IF you've done it....
hmm.................

Just got a new DeWalt. I had several HF grinders and used them hard to the point they burst into flames in my hand.
That is a super deal!

I've done it a few times, but usually when I using it a lot and I need to cool it down so it doesn't "burst into flames" LOL

I have two harbor freight 4 1/2' angle grinders . been using them for 20 years. they are weaker than the 9' dewalt at the farm but have always worked well., I keep a cutting disk on one and grinding disk on the other.  I liked the paddle switch on my mikita better but it wore out years ago.

I used one of the new grinders yesterday. It doesn’t sound real smooth. I took the gear cover off to check the grease. There was no grease on the gears and it had a screw just like what holds the gear cover on laying in the gear box.😂😂😂 I doubt this one will last very long.

YOU got lucky !! I've been trying to repair s Made in USA Kohler engine, that due to NO locktite, the case cover lifts off and ,well, the lower case cracks.....
Your repair is a simple 50c dab of grease and 1/2hr of your time... mine is either a $800 shortblock and 2 days of my time or find a viable(cheaper) replacement !

Yes , at worst case I’m out $19.00 for a grinder with a short life. It still doesn’t sound smooth but I’ll get all the miles out of it that I can. Had I not already removed the paddle switch safety, I’d return it for a new one.

I got a flyer in my email, and it has a coupon for $9.99 for this grinder. It also has a 4 star rating (people prefer spontaneous combustion). At this price you can buy 2-3 for parts! Hurry while supply lasts! LOL

I had one didn't even last an hr grinding sl*g off of welds. Shipped it back and went to fleet farm and bought a dewalt. Had the dewalt ever since. About 15 years now.

OH,,OK,,Chask,,I thought you said you got the 7 amp model for the $10,,,whew.!!,, The 4.3 amp model is till a good grinder. Like ole Steve I think said it is a light duty grinder and if you use it that way,,it'll last you a long time,,I've got one I've had for bout 5 years and still works good,,!!  I am a grinder freak as I have 4 HF ones from the 4.3 to their 7 amp I recently bought and I'll tell you for sure thet 7 amp is a HORSE,,!!  I also have a Sears 7 amp, a 6 amp Maketa and another 7 amp grinder (green)I can't remember the brand. (It's a 6.9 amp Hitachi) It runs at way lower RPM but is hell for stout in the power torque  dept. I use it with a  grinding wheel cause it will flat eat up some bad wellding sl*g,,,,,Wink

My concern is theft. I like low quality names so some will let them be thinking they can't sell'em. Didn't happen at the last break in though. They got over $2500 worth of stuff. And at 71 I don't need tools that last 30 years.
