Yeh, I spotted a full gallon can of creosote at a garage sale a couple of years ago that I snapped up real fast for $2 since it had been banned. None of the environmentally friendly stuff that is sold now works as well. My best deal was an almost new Jackall jack for $5. I still feel a little guilty about that one as it was a marriage breakup and I knew the people.

I bought a 55 gallon drum of Cosmoline at a going out of business sale one time. We used it at work to make a diluted liquid to cover our parts that we stored. I told the guy checking out people that I needed a burn barrel so he let me have it for $3.00. I told him it would cost me more than that to get rid of the crap in that barrel, so he gave me my money back. So I got it for nothing, when he figured out it would cost them money to get rid of that drum full. I don't think he knew how much my boss was willing to pay for it! David from jax

We've got a place a few miles from me where people turn in old paint and all kinds of liquids. I stop in every so often, I can't believe some of the stuff people turn in, new cans of wd40, brand new engine oil, once I got 5 one gallon jugs of Cub Cadet synthetic transmission oil! All free for the taking. Lots of times the spray cans have lost their pressure but there are ways to get the material out. I always watch for pink paint for Shameless but not often see it, maybe his stakeholder relative out here stops there too...

I bought 2 jerry cans for a buck or 2 at farm clean up /yard sale, one was full of diesel engine oil and the other one had hydrlic oil.I guess I need to go to more yard sale than one every 3 or 4 years if I want all the bargans.

Stopped by the same sale, today, 50% off, picked up some wrenches, fuses, fuse holders fer old cars, a small slide hammer puller kit, 3 bar clamps, couple tool holders, starter screwdrivers, plastic bottle oilers, grinder arbor, small nut breaker, hand countersink, all fer $13. Oh, and 2 1/2 full cans of aerokroil, fer free.
Same old battle-axe as yesterday was #1 in line, agin. She sure is an annoying sort, kinda like a hog at a trough...

We have one of those places by us too, it's called "Re-Store". People have to PAY to LEAVE paints/oils/chemicals etc. stuff and you have to PAY to take it outta there. Pretty good money makin business! Other things like building materials, you get to drop off fer nuthin and somebody is always buyin it.
