I test drove a nice maroon belly 7000 today. I went to shift the transmission though, and a cotter pin sheared off on the linkage of the main shifter between my legs. We replaced the cotter pin and everything seemed ok. I just don't want to buy it if there is a bigger underlying problem. Anyone know anything about this????

That cotter pin keeps the dust cover and its spring under tension. Certainly not a big deal. You'd think after 40 yrs of people kicking it with their shoes it would still be in great shape, right ??
