The old Winchesters are highly prized by collectors. Only one I have belonged to my FIL, think it is a model 1894 in 30-30. Good luck on finding what you are looking for.

Those were very nice prices for the buyers...
My father had an 1886 40-65 and traded it for 1894 32 Winchester Special, always wished he had it back. It was a heavy rifle.
The 25-35 would have been nice too...

TM, like this one that was sold yesterday?  1886 40-82 with ivory inlays...

I would have been on it if the seller had more than one purchase and had some previous sales... but he had none. Been after that model for many years, and the 40-65 for most of my life... because dad had one.
Now included in the hunt is the 38-56 cal which some say isn't any better than the 38-55 that was sold in the model 1894.  Don't know if that is fact or fiction... or just an opinion.

If there iz anything I know absolutely nothing about, it's guns. I mean I gots 4 of em, and they all gets used for a purpose (except one) but to get one out and just go blastin at milk bottles, well I just never have time for that. And I can understand the collecting of em. Everybody collects something, like ole Ted an his Ferd trucks.

But I gots an old Windchester rifle but I've never fired it. It's not anything valuable like the ones you guys are talkin about. It's a little model 1906, I think it iz, a pump 22 that's kinda in rough shape with electrical tape on the stock and the spring tube insert missing. I took it from a fella that owed me some cash fer well work and it came down to taking this or nothin, an well, anything beats nothin.

I was about to  call a buddy of mine who collects guns to see if he wanted it cause He gots my High Standard sport king werkin for me several years back when it was acting up, an he did it fer nothin out of the kindness of his heart, or it could be that he felt sorry fer a fella who didn't know how to clean and lube a rifle. I guess when it starts acting up again I'll take it in fer the free service again, or since I now know how to google stuff maybe thet guy can tell me how. I been saving thet High Standard rifle fer Thad cause he toll me he been lookin fer one. It only gets used once in a blue moon when that possum gits in the chicken house. But if my local friend don't want thet 1906 rifle, one of you fella can gimma an offer fer it, I don't need it.

Thet Windchester 1200 ranger I still use at the skeeter shoot every fall and The Ruger pellet gun POS still has the squirrels laughing at me while these big ole fingers drop 249 pellets to gits one loaded. In a stupid gun that shoots only one bullet at a time fer cryin out loud! But I gots the last laugh cause they ended up with a couple of cousins missing. Teach them not to be breakin into my house, yesseree.

-------------
I still gots my A/C but it's clear out in the barn now.
