I need to drill and tap the holes that holds the muffler on. I think it's probably pointless to try to get the broken bolts out. How deep are the holes, or do they go all the way through? I think they would easier to tap if I drilled them all the way through, although this is probably not correct. I'll be putting bolts back in them so there shouldn't be a leaking problem.
I can probably do this with the manifold on the tractor, but I think I'm going to remove it. It has a new gasket, I just wondered if I could re-use it? Thanks Ranse.

Exhaust gasket is probably toast, anyway, they get brittle after just a few hours of running. I'd just get a sharp bit, and drill it still on the motor...

All that I have seen went into the manifold bore and were tapped.
