I have sold my 190 and are considering selling my 1206 farmall. Thinking of going from two old tractors to one decent newer tractor. Found an 8070 locally. Little bigger than I need, but leaves room for expansion. 3500 hrs. What are you guys opinion on these.

I have an 8070 FWA, powershift, and I sure like it. 3,500 hours isn't many hours. Should be a lot of life left in that one. Darrel

The only issue I have ever been told to look out for on the 80xx series, is the FWA input shaft play into the front diff. Apparently these wear, and are often not in very good shape. Otherwise, they had many of the updates learned from the 70xx series, and are a solid robust tractor.

The only negative I can think of with the 8070 is that it is large 1000 rpm pto only.

Get it quick before someone else gets it. If a PS and if 5th gear low and 2nd gear hi are the mph speed, there is a wine in 5th gear. Later ones have different speeds and they don't have the extra noise. Hopefully, the throttle is in the console at your right side. I say go for it. You will love it. You can always add 540/1000 PTO from a salvage yard.

If you're going to use it for a loader it may be too big. Its better as a field tractor.
Nowadays, a good loader tractor has a forward reverse shuttle and maybe lower (smaller) making it easier to get on and off.

Is it a power director or powershift. Just out of curiosity. We have a Power Director in ours but it only has 2800 hours on it. We also have a 7020 with about 7200 hours on it that has a Power Director.

Power director and 2wd. I'm not going to rush into anything, but I will be making a trip back over to look at it again and talk with the owner some more. Surprised that Ilgleaner hasn't bought it yet honestly.

Now I just need to find a buyer for my 1206. I'm thinking around $9500-$10500 for it. Needs some work, but has new tires, new turbo, and transmission/rear end has been gone through from the high low reverse transmission on back
