Does anyone know anything about an AC round bailer? I didn't even know they made one. My neighbor said he had one that he'd give me on the condition that I restore it. He didn't say a lot about what shape it was in other than it was stuck and wouldn't turn. I'm not sure I'm up to that kind of challenge. I need another project about like a hole in my head, but I can't wait to see this thing. I'll post more information when I find out. Thanks

One of the simplest balers ever made. Very simple to run and operate. If I was there I would be glad to help.

There was the little one, that they made thousands of, 40's-70's and a bigger one built by Hawk Built, but it was a ground driven flop, that couldn't roll a tight bale...

A white top (late model) would be worth a go, but the older units are mostly give-aways, now...

That explains why he's giving it to me I guess. I reckon it is the little one from the way he described it. I'm not sure what I'd do with it if I did have it in good working order.

Go for it Ranse! Once you start working on it, you won't be able to stop until you have it working like a Swiss watch. And once you get it working, and baling with it, you'll be out begging people to let you bale for them. ........Ok,a little exaggeration there, but I do thoroughly enjoy mine. It is not my bread and butter by no means, but running it is a good stress reliever. Darrel

I think Allis built around 75,000 of those round balers

We ran several of them for years, hope you can find someone thats run one to show
you the ins and outs. And buy a set of those red hay hooks at TSC to handle the bales with and keep one on the baler to unplug hay and to latch the rear springs.Never ever
start to bale unless you have made sure the brake is loose and not stuck. It can stick overnight.

Yep,,. if you fix it the brake should be checked before use, even humidity for a night can make it stick... and yes there are some 'sticky wickits' that are tricky to make work unless you know what to look for...but they are a fun machine to operate and watch work. go for it.
