If the weight is distributed correctly, they are have a tendency to be light in the front, the little machined will amaze you with how hard they pull. I went with a CA, ben pulling it for 5yrs, as they are longer and far easier to balance plus the 4sp box. The gearing is kinda fast tho and 2.5k and 3k  3 mph are about the only classes available. Tune it correctly and as stated, you will be amazed!! Ya gotta love the little guys cause "It's alright to be itty bitty"!!!

I started out pulling my B and learned a few things.

Stock they do OK. I powered out even with a fresh rebuild.
Added a D15 Carb and Gov spring, power and RPM's went up. Very snappy and don't power out now.
Balance is hard to do even with front wheel and engine weights.
I've pulled up to 3500 with it, but it does best 2500-3000.
1st gear is pretty tall, thus harder to keep at 3 mph.

I now pull a CA due to better balance and gearing.

Good luck!

Ditto on all of the above. Although if there is a 2000 pound class in your area you'll dominate it. Cub's and Pony's are no match for a B. I was pulling a B years ago and the only thing I came in second to would be another B.  Then I mad the mistake of getting a CA into the 2000 pound class and that was the end of the 2000 pound class around me.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Club here has 2750 3000 3250 3500 3750 4000 then 4500 and up so lots of classes to hook too.Rules allow up to 14.9 tires. What size do you guys use or think works best? I have the little 9.5s on her now. Only 2 guys pull in them lighter classes that i've seen and there both ca's.Be fun competition.

I agree with the CA around here you can run 28s on a CA. First tractor I ever pulled was a B. Important part is to have fun and be competitive.

We run 16.9 x 24's full cut on our CA and hardly ever run 3mph. 4,6 and sometimes 8 mph depending on track conditions. Almost never power out unless in heavy clay.

For those weight classes you will have to see what you can make work with a B. I guess nothing larger than an 11.2X24 and LOW gear if it can even handle that at 2750. This would be a good reason to get your wife to understand you need another tractor, a CA.
On our CA (the one without the turbo) we run 18.4X16.1 rear tires and always run third gear at 2500 pounds and at about 10MPH.

I have always heard the B Allis is a hell of a percentage pull tractor wherever percentage pulling is popular. No way for me to back up what I have heard from never being around much percentage pulling
I pulled a friends IB a few times. Talk about a energizer bunny of a tractor. That little IB just kept on going. Crowd went wild.
