Does anyone have a manual or specifications for 778 running gear.  Specifically I am looking for the original rim and tire sizes along with bearing replacement information.  One of the bearings on the rear has cracked and it had a truck tire on it when I purchased a few years ago.

I can't help with any manual info. But, I've had excellent service thru Napa Auto parts. I just take used components to parts counter at Napa for replacing wheel bearings, hub races, & hub seals for my AC 701 & 800 running gears.

Also, here's a link to an earlier discussion. Shoups still supplies some parts too. There is a link to their website in this earlier thread. If your 778 wagon gear refers to an 8 bolt 778 hub, then 11-16", 12.5-15", & 12.5-16" tires were commonly mounted on 10-15" or 10-16" rims. You'll need to measure you wagon's hub face to frame clearance for correct rim inner dish (offset). I think my AC 1010's inner rim's offset is 4-4.5"??

Once you get the bearings out and get a mfr. P/N, you can find everything you need on eBay. I did all three of my A-C running gears a couple of years ago this way, using Timken bearings and National seals. Got some good deals. I have a brochure with the wheel sizes for the 300, 405, 500, 505, 701 and 1000 Models, but it doesn't have the number you've listed. I believe one or two of my wagons has that type of Catalog Number on a tag on it. Not sure how they cross to a Model number though.

Bob, I have search internet & do not see an AC 778 wagon gear. So I'm wondering if you found out anything on your end? You have any pics or other info to share?

Roller bearing cone, inner is LM67018
Roller bearing cone, outer is LM11949
Cup, inner is LM67010
Cup, outer is LM11910
These are Timken numbers but they seem to work for other manufacturers too

Seems to be three different rim sizes available, 14x5 KB rim and disc, 15x5 KB, and 16x4.50E
