Drained the cases on my 45 and Im getting ready to fill them back up....what do they require? Everything looked like standard gear lube but not sure what weight other than the wet clutch looked to have something different....also where do I fill the rear diff? or does it fill from the trans? I wasnt sure because they had separate drain plugs. Any help is great. thanks

There are three filler plugs, all are on the left side. rear one is down by the foot rest for diff. middle one is down by tranny, fill them with 80-90W (takes about 17 qt. add one more if you have a PTO) and the third is the dipstick for the hydraulics, you fill them with hydraulic fluid, not sure of amount for that. Believe that you can use Hy-Trans for all three.

I put hytran fluid in everything in my 45 after replacing 3rd gear back in 1982. It ain't so stiff when I want to plow snow now. No problems in 28 years.

Everyone has different opinions but I use the 80w90 in the trans and 20 wt hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system. Im sure it will all work fine I just prefer the heavier oil because of leaks and better gear lubrication.

There is also a drain plug on the bottom at the rear of the hydraulic pump control unit and one on the bottom of the PTO unit. The plug on the bottom of the hydraulic reservoir has a magnet in it that needs to be wiped clean. There are filler plugs on the inner faces of each final drive unit, no drain plugs, you just top off the pans.
