I have noticed in my travels around ND that there seems to be a lot of new Versatiles out there.  It is good to see a smaller company doing well.

If AGCO would have bought them they would in the red so far the place would have to closed down. AGCO already has a red tractor.

I'm sure Agco would have stuck a fork in the Versatile name in favor of it's beloved Massey Ferguson.

Versatile is doing real well here to. Anyone wanting big horsepower that doesn't want to go read or green seems to be buying either Versatile or Ford.

I hope they do well as they are. I don't want AGCO getting anywhere near them.

There arent very many of them around here, but I think they would be a really good tractor. They bought the genesis tractor design from Ford/New Holland. There cabs are the same exact thing as our 8970 Ford. Not only do they have the same cab as the older Fords they also share some of the parts off of the New Holland TG's. They combined the best parts of the two tractors and put a cummins engine in front of it. In a way I wish they were painted orange with Agcos name on the side, but that wouldnt make things right.

I believe they contracted to build tractors for Ford, besides the 4 wheel drive.  It would be nice if they Versatlie would buy the Orange line from AGCO as they don't think they are needed or wanted by North American farmers.  The newest 4 wheel drive in my county is a Versatile.

Heres some history off of there website, http://www.versatile-ag.ca/about/history.html - http://www.versatile-ag.ca/about/history.html  . You were right I didn't know that they built some of the Ford tractors. It said in 2001 they bought back the plant. They may be just talking about the big 4wds, but our New Holland dealer said that they had the right to make those tractors still. Cat used the Genesis cab on some of there tracked tractors such as the 35. We have got some cab parts for our 8970 though Cat since there closer than New Holland.
