I'm wondering if anyon has experience with harvest tech acid aplicators for large square balers? I am having trouble with pumps getting warm and shutting off. Cool down and they will go again. Ran same acid for 8 years. Harvest tech kinda blames me for not using their acid?

Look for and double look for low voltage at the pumps when they are running. Low voltage about any motor pumps will make them over heat and then the heat increases the resistance and the increased resistance lowers the voltage some more. Poor connections will be hot to the touch for an easy way to find them. Otherwise maybe you are trying to pump something to thick or hard to pump or maybe a hose has a kink or other restriction.

I have been battling this all summer. Been through system with a fine tooth comb! No hose kinks. Check valves function. All screens are clean as a whistle. Connections are good with Di-electric grease as well. Have not checked voltage to pumps. That is what I'm leaning towards in the pump control box. I hooked water to it today of well water temp. If pumped 400 pounds before the kicked out. Acid which is temp outside and perhaps a bit thicker takes 100-150 oounds to piss them off!

I'm thinking of measuring the voltage right at the pumps with them running with a digital volt meter and then check it against the battery voltage at the battery posts. A difference of much more than one volt would concern me. You could bypass all the switches and run some pretty heavy gauge wire with a pretty good sized fuse right to them and see if they stay running.

I have made a set of jump wires from a new battery. Pumps will run on them. I have yet done a duration test, tomorrow's job. I am not sure if the pump control box limits voltage to pumps or if it's a straight circuit to pumps?

It's proprionic acid with citric acid. Some other brands have other small ingredients. It is applied on hay baled between 15-25% moisture to change ph and aid/prevent heat damage and mold! In MI we go through lots.
