Does anybody cut there own? I have some older firestones that have 95% tread, would like to cut them about half way down and taper them back. Can you use a wood planer or something similar? Could grind but that's a lot to grind. Thanks

Iv used a wood planner to clean up some uneven poor shape tires on a few of my tractors before but never to top cut tires for pulling. But I'm sure it would work the same.

There's a electric knife made that is specifically made to cut tires. Work good too.

Old school, good thin sharp butcher knife dipped in diesel fuel and some elbow grease. Cut a tire in 2hrs ,sharpen after a few bars. Crude by today's standards but very effective .
