Hey guys. Just an opinion or hopefully some experience would be nice. I have a 185. Dynoed last night at 138 hp. 18.4x30 firestone field and road rears with matching band duals. Inner filled with fluid. Will be pulling in 9500# since I can not make 7000# class anymore with the fluid. Will I still be able to go in third hi or low or am I down to second gear now? Thanks for any advice.

At 138 hp, I assume it has an aftermarket turbo and some pump/injector work? If so you, should be able to use third high/low (fifth and sixth) easily.

I, personally, never had any luck pulling with calcium chloride in the tires.

I have beet juice but I know what you mean. I use it on the farm and need the weight. Just pulling at the county fair for fun.

Sorry you asked a question.... yes I have a 200 turbo and pump and injectors are setup up at 200 specs at local shop. I'm just lucky to be at 138 hp. When I overhauled the engine I was expecting 100_110 hp

Second gear, but I'm not there looking at what kind of track you've got, but I still think second.

Track is usually hard clay. Makes my wd work in 4000#. Good traction

from memory - it takes about 160 hp to hold 3d high with 30" tires at 7000 #. On a power track you are in 4th gear over 8000#....

Thanks guys. I was undecided to go in 2 hi or 3 low. Looks like it's a toss up yet with the answers lol Friday night I'll try one or the other

Not to sidetrack, but on Facebook there is a post about a guy running a 185 with 200hp.
Intercooled, not sure what Turbo setup
But he farms with it.

Go 2nd high side, it sucks to run out of power,,,,, and remember to watch the track before you pull,, ,

Well I went in 3 low. Just barely spun the tires at the end. But still took 1st. Beating a 1206 by a foot. So mission completed. I beat the annoying red ones. Thanks guys
