Hi Guys; I have a friend with a "Big Ten" and he still cuts a small lawn with it. Bearings in one of the spindle have failed so now what? Anyone have NOS spindles? Is there another brand that will fit? Sounds like the shaft is bad also so rebuild would require machine shop work, thanks for any help you all may have    Mark

These are pretty common parts. Is it the center spindle or an outer one?

I'll have to ask him, is the center one different?

The housing is the same on the center but it has a taller shaft.

It is one of the outside spindles that has bad bearings, are they rebuildable?

Yes they can be refurbished.I found the bearings and shaft for my homesteader deck and 917 deck at the local AGCO dealer.
The bearings look pretty standard so you should be able to get replacements at any reputable bearing shop.

6204 seems to be the common spindle bearing in just about every mower - I have went to shield and sealed bearing - using a metal shield on the blade side rather than just the plastic and seal used on the 6204RS bearing

I patched a spindle one time by wrapping some thin copper around where it was worn to fill it out and fitted a new bearing on it as tight as I could. Surprised me. Wore the deck out.

It would take ALOT of abuse to damage the shaft. Most likely just needs a new set of bearings. I say set because I would highly recommend doing all 3 spindles at the same time. Each spindle takes 2 bearings. Quite easy to do. Sandy Lake Imp has the bearings. I redid the whole deck for my B110 last winter. HTH.
