I bought a replacement cylinder for my disk. My old cylinder is a one-way (port on one end of the cylinder only) and my new cylinder is a two-way. Do I just plug one of the ports or do I have to put a vent in the other ports to let the air in and out?

You need a vent.

From what I've seen a vent is a just plug with a small hole drilled in it.  Maybe there are some more sophisticated vents on some with a screen to keep dirt out better.  Mike

The vent plugs were available in the past, maybe some dealers will have one.  I have used an pipe elbow with a rag wrapped around it, didn't look real pretty but worked.
I have made a vent with a brass pipe to flare fitting, topped off with drilled cap(parts I had in the scrap box.  I think I drilled a 1/16 hole in cap.

Most any store that has hydraulic fittings will have a vent fitting. It has a fine screen in it to keep out grunge from being inhaled. And it lets the oil out when the piston seals leak. Last one I bought cost around $3.95. Carried by Northern Tool, Baum Hydraulics, probably TSC, Farm and Fleet, Deere, AC, etc. Comes in several threads, like o-ring or tapered pipe thread, amost certainly in1/2 and 3/4" sizes of each.

Here is something that will work great. We used them as mufflers on air control valving on presses and other machine tools. They also work great for the back side of your cylinder.
