I've got supposedly a D14, but can't read the torque tube numbers.

I've got the engine number : 149-13754R    that last letter I believe is an "R", could be an H or A, not completely sure.

Trying to ID the year, model  etc.

Well, it's a G-149 engine. If it has a spin-on oil filter like a PH8A Fram, it's a D-15 series 1 engine. If it has the cotton string oil filter like a WD45 with the steel tube up inside it, it's probably a D-14 engine....could also be D-10/12.

it has 2 sealing rings at the bottom of the sleeve bores. I'll check on the filter tonight. it's also cracked at the bottom between 1 & 2 just don't know how bad yet. but bad enough probably... looks like rust and crud was the only thing keeping it from leaking.

As I was tearing it down, I saw the worst rebuild of any engine I've ever seen. Who'd SHIM a Main Bearing, and Why? at one point, the thing had tossed a rod thru the side, and they'd done a wonderful job of JB Weld "Bondo" on the thing. It's smeared on the inside and out. there's evidence of damage everywhere even 3 of the 4 sleeves had a piece missing at the bottom.

I think I recovered most of the tractor serial# 143543  was all I could read, so I'm thinking '58 D14.
