Still looking for a dozer. There is an HD7G for sale. Non-running , but, the motor is not locked up. Undercarriage is useable. 4 in 1 bucket. $3500 or best offer. What do you guys think of a -7G? |

friend had one said it was good machine UNTIL one had to work on it - then everything was tight and hidden - a real bear to get to and unless you didn't mind tight spaces and standing on your head - it was ok. ------------- Faith isn't a jump in the dark. | The 7G I'm looking at is all about working on it. It's complete but rough. The engine will rotate with a pry bar. Maybe it's still worth the trouble. I don't know the condition of the tracks and sprockets. |

| If you are new to crawlers you do NOT want an HD7G because of the complex hydraulics. It is an excellent machine when it is working. I have an HD7G that I have put off fixing for many years. The motor works fine it even moves and turns but not well. After replacing many hydraulic hoses, filters and pumps. I bought an HD6G. Some day I will remove the HD7G transmission to see what is wrong. But for now, I use the HD6G if something breaks or needs adjustment the repair is logical. |

As dozer stated the 7G's are problematic, I also own one and a second for parts as they are getting VERY scarce. Hydraulics are tough even of have the correct tools, trans is a real monster to remove and the engine HAS TO come out to work on the torque converter. Lots of little issues lead to really bad days but I already own the machine and continue to keep it functional. Fuel injection parts are EXTREMELY limited so should the pump have died it is probably dead in the water for good.

Thanks for the input. I think this explains why the seller isn't bothering to get it running. This one is probably not for me based on what you say. |

| I've got my dads original 66 hd7g he bought it new fantastic machine it's a power house with even the 4 cyl over 100 horse easy to operate I absolutely love it rings are tired but I've done the head and turbo now so next is inframe for now I just add oil lol but no complaints here between that and my hd4 I can do most anything |

Thanks for your comments on the 7g you have. To post pics: Click from the upper right corner of the last post in the thread. Then click on the "tree" icon at the top of the reply box (got Font Size B I U,etc). click browse to find the pic on your computer, then hit upload. you may have to play around with resizing the picture. |

I think you guys would get a kick out of them I'm clearing a buddys property right now there's a video of the hd4 on YouTube my wife posted it right when I got it it's under ridemyspree all one word not a bad machine someone cut off my upper rollers for some reason when they rebuilt the undercarriage idiots I found some on an old h3 here locally but don't look easy to get off as I need the pedestals also I may just cut them off same spot and try to weld them back on but I'd really like to bolt on the whole unit the track adjuster shaft runs right threw it :/ |
