Hello from a first time poster. As the title says, I just purchased an AC TL 14 Tracto Loader. I have a few questions. I have gotten it so I can use it and it runs with good power. But I do not know what all of the levers in the cab do. I have figured out the brakes aren't real good! I know the forward, reverse and neutral lever on the left. The two levers on the right run the bucket and arms. Behind them is a lever that I don't know what it does, I think it is the two or four wheel drive selector but I don't know for sure and don't know which position dictates what. By my right ankle is a lever that seems like it should turn like the hands on a clock. Also the steering seems sluggish and really slow to respond. Any and all help would be appreciated. This weekend I will try to get some pictures and have my daughter help me get them on the computer and post them here. Really appreciate any and all help. First off, welcome to the forum. You have the right spot, just might take a little time for the right person to see your post. There is a wealth of knowledge here, so someone will be along that can probably answer all your questions and possibly be able to tell you where to find manuals for your loader. ------------- Looking at the past to see the future. The lever by your right ankle should be the brake cut out valve. In one position (down I believe) the transmission disengages as soon as you press the brake pedal, in the other position the transmission stays engaged while the brakes are applied. The feature with the transmission cutting out is so that as you come up to a truck let's say, to dump your bucket you need to temporarily rev the engine to quickly lift the bucket without manually taking it out of gear. The extra lever close to the bucket controls could be a third valve for a grapple etc. A picture might tell. I've never heard of being able to select 2 or 4 wheel drive. If you can follow any plumbing or hoses you might find out where they go. Regarding the sluggish steering there is a chance that the machine has a separate hydraulic pump for the power steering in which case very likely the pump is tired and the pressure is low, if it has a separate oil reservoir check if the fluid is low. If you follow the lines from the power steering you might see if they lead to a smaller pump somewhere. ------------- Currently- WD,WC,3WF's,2 D14's B.
