i have a 220 and a 190xt and both have primer pumps that leak as much fuel as they pump when using them. so today i made some changes to mine and got rod of the rubber plunger and replaced it with a sealed bosch pump as used on other tractors. cost about $30 to do the change and about 30 minutes,

The local diesel shop just rebuilt mine a few weeks ago. Roosa Master supplies a kit for changing out the seals on those hand pumps.

Maybe you should fix the fuel gauge

dealer here would NOT sell me any seals to fix mine, ---said I had to buy the whole pump at $ 185.----and I told them to kiss it and went 2 blocks down the street to napa and bought a electric pump for less than fifty bucks!---best thing I ever did for the 190! ( except to get the tractor sold, as I don't need it for my 5 acre garden)! thanks; ac fleet

A quick search for the part number in the picture took me here (I ordered a couple one for my XT and for my 7000 (they both like to squirt too!) http://www.ebay.com/itm/281720695153" rel="nofollow - http://www.ebay.com/itm/281720695153

that looks like a pretty good setup, but I sell the complete rebuild kits for the primer assembly for around $70. The plunger is 45 of that. What you don't see are the 2 check valves inside that get clogged up with crap and create a major restriction of fuel flow to the pump. Those check valves are about 10 each. Putting on the Bosch primer does nothing about the 2 check valves inside. New replacement plungers don't leak either. Once that bosch primer is 40 years old, it will be leaking too lol!

Think that would work using an elbow so it is upright? That is plunger only? Still using the OEM valves in stock body? Thanks....Dale

Yes Dale, I only adapted the new pump to the barrel and left all the original check valves and spring intact. I don't see why you couldn't put in an elbow it should work fine with one I would think if there is room to still pump the pump. johnny

Do you have the primer rebuild kits for a 200 allis?

I bought the rebuild kit from injpumped. Primer doesnt leak, works great. Only problem i had was allowing gunk to get into the check valves because i got rid of the sediment bowl screens and then left fuel cap off while mowing. I blew out check valves with air and they were fine. I recommend using original equipment.
