May go look at a B-112 this weekend that owner says has a bad starter button - sometimes makes contact and spins to start - sometimes not.  Owner claims power is coming thru ignition switch to button.

Is there an easy way to jumper around this just to get tractor running to be able to see what kind of condition the rest of the tractor is in while running?

Thanks.

take a #10 or so wire and go from battery to terminal on starter - or just same wire and jump across solenoid terminals with the key in run position.

Thanks, guys.

Yep, I had asked all the right questions to the "owner" and had received satisfactory answers, so took off this a.m. very early for a 2 1/2 hr drive one way to go to look at the tractor, with the intention of purchase if everything was the same as I was told over the phone and messaging.

Found a couple of other things wrong, changed my offer price which he accepted. Went to jumper the unit, and all it did was spark on the battery - no turn of the starter/gen.  Turned on the lights, the jumpered to see if current was going thru my wire to starter, lights dimmed considerably, so we knew that power was going to the starter.  Discussed further on when this happened.  Owner said last fall, and when he asked "dealer" he bought the unit from, was told it was only the starter button......Un huh.  Found out that originally the motor did turn over correctly, didn't start, but owner didn't w ant to continue to run starter for fear of "burning" out the starter.  Maybe what happened - who knows.

At this time I changed my offer again to something I felt I could live with and still get a working tractor.  The owner declined, said he guessed he paid too much for the tractor when he bought it approx. year + ago.  He told me what he paid, and I agreed that he paid too much.

So - still on the lookout for one of these B-110 or B112.

Thanks for allowing my long winded explanation!
