The HD344, 6000 and 7000 motors that I have worked on use CB700P connecting rod bearings sold by Cleivite, Sealed Power, Federal and others. These bearings have an oil hole for lubricating the wrist pin. There is another connecting rod bearing with an off center slot. I assume this is for lubricating the cylinder bore on a non Allis Chalmers Buda motor. This would require a different oil hole position on the connecting rod. Anybody know the history and if the slotted bearing was used on any AC equipment. I would also like to know the reason for the deep dish vs shallow dish pistons for the 6000 and 7000 motors.

I was told by an Allis supplier that you could use either when I was looking for parts for a "Forty Five" grader (Buda engine).  I haven't done a comparison though.

My HD6G 25013 was factory fitted with the shallow dish pistons, I was always under the impression that they were "Turbo" pistons as fitted to the 7000 and 11000 motors, and to simplify parts they used them in the later non turbo motors

The HD344 has the combustion chamber in the cylinder head. The 6000 motor has the combustion chamber in the piston. I am trying to understand why there are 2 different dished piston configurations?

The slotted connecting rod bearings are another thing I am trying to understand. I know the HD344 connecting rods are different than the 6000 and 7000 connecting rod. The 6000 and 7000 motors have a larger diameter wrist pin. That makes me think they were addressing a problem with the wrist pins. If the slotted bearings are used they would block the oil hole to the wrist pin. Yes I know they fit but they are not interchanbible. That means there should be a third connecting rod type.
