So the b1 im thinking of buying seems like a very nice deal but the bevel gear box is apart, its all there just has to be reassembled and put in is that a hard task or no? The bgb is part of the tranny correct?

The bevel gear box sits in front of the tranny.  Input from the engine in front, the right side shaft drives the tranny and the left side shaft runs the deck.  Not hard to rebuild.  There are write-ups and info on www.simpletractors.com and some guys here have probably done it.  I need to do one but haven't gotten that far.
