Hello, I am looking for some information. I currently have a Leroi D226 head with the combustion chambers in the head. I am wanting to know what rod would be the best to use at 5.5" stroke?
Thanks.

Not sure about rods, but do you have any pictures of the head? I've never seen one of those before and I'd like to look at it.

H farmall rods would be simple and much cheaper than custom. we have some going onto a 5.4 crank but your piston choice with the leroi head may require something different depending on compression height/ piston type

I was thinking the H rods also but am having issues finding a 1.9 compression height piston in automotive at 4.125, If I go with an 8.5" rod I can use a 1.4 piston that are easy to find.

You might find a taller piston and cut it down to what you want. MACK

Leeoi head has around a 180 cc chamber so to make anything out of it Pankey recomwmnds stroke of 6.25 with 8 inch rod like came in the lerio that had those heads and a automotive piston and dome to set compression to a desired level

I built a 400 cube wc puller. I have a 6 inch stroked crank and 4.600 bore, big block Chevy pistons. I used 8 inch rods from a 350 international. The head is wc head ported and polllished. I have big block Chevy valves, 1.92 intake 1.60 exhaust. Intake manifold is stock but port matched to head. Carb is d17 bored to 1.40, no choke. The cam was ground notched to fit rods.the rods and bearings were narrowed to fit crank. The crank and rods were done by Keith Merfeld. I had to grind the block for Clarence the rods I had to modify oil pan. I am running 11 to 1 compression. I used a D17 block and crank. I could not Dino it because drop boxes kept breaking. We figure it to b around 100 hp. I have 15.5 tires, never ran out of power but need to get bigger tires. The slaves we turned down .o26 on bottom of sleaves , we bored block to fit sleaves. Used the green sleave sealer from lock tight. Pressed the sleaves in never had a problem with leaks. We o ringed the top of block with a stainless steal .052 wire, I used a copper head gasket no leaks.
