Anyone ever use SharkBite fittings and what is your opinion of them?

If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.

In Omaha they are illegal! That being said, when we demo a bathroom and the plumber is coming tomorrow but his stuff is in our way, we use the shark bite caps! They work well for the short time they are needed!

I loved shark bite caps for remodels. Used them over and over for temporary. I would not use them in a permanent installation as I have seen then leak over time. They are approved in Uniform Plumbing Code but check local jurisdiction if being inspected.

They work great, especially for modifications after the initial installation, but they are not inexpensive!

I have used them only in the fifth wheel campers I have had for repairs and mods with PEX They have worked great. Permanent and never a leak. Great for tight places with virtually no access or wiggle room. 10 Years and holding on the last camper. None in the home though.

I have used them on Copper to Pex and they have held good for several years.

I've got one in the basement for 2 or 3 years now. No problems so far.

I have used for repairs in inaccessable areas they work great on Pex only thing I've used on. kinda expensive but lots cheaper than tearing the camper walls out. I added a 1 gallon pressure tank to my camper in a area you could barley get the tank in. just cut the line setup the tank with sharkbites stuff the tank in and push the lines into the fittings. been holding for 10 years never a drop. the one under my kitchen sink in the house has been 20 years since I installed

Would not put one in a wall , ceiling , floor or underground but are awfully easy to use and can get you out of a bind . Have seen a few leak over time .
