After having my starter and magneto rebuilt, the Allis b finally is starting much better but occasionally she doesn’t want to play. I have NGK BP2HS plugs that were fitted before I got her. Is there a better plug ? I have read of others that aren’t available in the uk

NGK have good plugs. I use them in several of my tractors. Before switching the plugs, I would be looking at the rest of the ignition system. Also make sure there are no obstructions in your fuel system.

Just watched a Y-Tube video about "Fake/Counterfeit" NGK plugs on Amazon. Might be true/might not. Buyer beware. I just got some from Rock Auto for my truck. They appear to be the real thing.

The best plug I've found for my WC, which would work just fine in your B, is NGK Iridium
part # XR4IX, Stock # 7189 from Rock Auto. They have the best price and they are not cheap knock offs or imitations like you may see on eBay. BUT, before you continue with things mentioned above, do a real good valve adjustment. These engines are solid lifter engines and need occasional valve adjustment. Chances are those valves haven't been adjusted in many many years. Out of adjustment valves can cause starting issues.

I also agree NGK are great plugs. However BP2HS would not be a correct plug to use. This plug is a hot plug with a projected insulator type. this would lead me to believe that it was fouling plus or maybe that's just what the person had lying around.
The Factory plug would be an AC45, which is a NON RESISTOR plug that you need to work properly with a magneto. The correct cross to a NGK is a B4 stock #3210 |

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |
