I'm new to this forum and trying to figure out how to insert pictures. Maybe it worked better this time. I'm trying to figure out what this plow is before possibly buying it. Some people on YT think it's an allis but I also had opinions of JD and IH. The present owner says IH little genius. What do you think?

Look closely at the beam, you should see the name Allis Chalmers forged into the side of the main curved beam. I have one just like that that has some factory paint yet that is green and yellow, I am assuming LaCrosse colors. It says Allis Chalmers on the side of the main beam, so Allis started doing that as soon as they acquired the company in 1929. The problem I have with that is there were no 1 plow tractors built then that I can think of.

Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives.

Ted, Manufacturers of that day built all sizes of plows to fit all kinds of tractors. I know Deere built tractor plows of various sizes in the 10s and 20s but didn't even have a tractor yet. I'm sure Lacrosse and Allis Chalmers Did The same.

Thanks Guys,
Your replys helped me a lot. The plow is about 100 miles from me so all I had to go on is the picture. All I want is a plow that would be of proper vintage for a 1943 JD H so I can play at our local club's plow day. The club I speak of is the La Grange Engine club in Northern Ohio. We are not positioned with any brand of equipment so no one would think twice about mixing brands. It's interesting that the LaCross plows were painted Green and Yellow. The next thing I'll be researching is proper paint codes if they exist and what gets painted each color.
Thanks again,
Bill
