Folks just tried the upload using the tree (image feature) Looks like it may work OK. I typically have used photobucket. I think I pay $40 a year for keeping my pictures on photobucket.

I have had pics on Photobucket for 15 years I think, and never paid a dime.
To upload videos, you have to use the "film strip" icon, NOT the tree. I put any videos I have on youtube and then share them anywhere.

How many pictures do you guys have on Photobucket?
Why is everyone so down with Photobucket?
Are they not a company out a make a profit? How many of you are willing to provide services for whatever your profession is for free? I doubt if many do except for friends and family.
Now the issue will be Darin's. And what are we going to say if he starts adding pop up adds or even goes to charging a membership fee?
The real issue is we need to take care of our own stuff and not put it on to some one else.
Just get an external drive and be done. You can get a Seagate 2 TB for $46. That will hold a lot of pictures and videos.

Thanks & God Bless

Dennis

I have been using photobucket and have not yet been hijacked.  the file manager works great until you run out of space.  when you start deleting pictures,  posts in the knowledge base go to hell because the pictures have been deleted.  or like the post i made last week about the UC transmission rebuild.  if i put that in the file manager and then later deleted the pictures to post something else,  it would be hard to understand what a rebuild takes, and just about makes the post useless to future readers.  so the file manager is not a good solution as it does not allow enough storage.

and photobucket makes its money of the adds that other companies put up

Yes they have the right to change the policy and that is what it stated in the agreement that they could change it at any time.
But up till that time, I only had less than half the space filled up per the original agreement.
Not less I read the new changes wrong it would cost me $400.00 a year to post pictures from there site.
I am not willing to pay that much to just post pictures.

I have all my pictures backed up but PB made it easier to post to this site and our club site.  I also read in the new agreement that they can copy and use your photo's and water mark them if you choose to delete your account.  I have started the process of deleting all my photo's on there.  Think from now on I will put a watermark on all my photo's posted on sites, especially if they are stored on an outside source.

It's not so obvious at first .... how to access those files you've already uploaded to delete ones you don't want anymore, rename them or to gain space.
You have to go to the "Member Control Panel" (under your name, of course)

Once there,  scroll down & click on File Manager; the files will be listed in the left-hand column.

Looks like previously posted images used via photobucket are still working. Only new shares do not.

Ok, playing with the size, but actually pretty simple. Thats my new decals I had made for my 190xt. Excuse the water spots.

CTucker, I can post now but the picture is not as big as I would like. I played with width and hight, but it automatically goes to 3264 and 2448. If I change that to the max size it will upload which is 350,200 the picture is not that large. See the post above of my decals. What am I missing?

THANK YOU Darin Stratton for this site!!!

NOW,,,,,,,,,,,,,
in regards to Photobucket...........We're being held hostage.... Let's ACT!!

I've been saying this all along............
How much will each member toss into the pot to buy a second server or external hard drive so that ALL pictures can be put on THIS site and not have to be inputted from somewhere else?

What's it worth guys??

Darin, can you tell us what you need so we can help pay for whatever it is and so we don't ever have to worry about this kind of crap again from someone else like Photobucket!!

There is a lot of stuff in the knowledge base that we need to keep and will have to go back into and replace pictures.  For those of us who have benefited from the Farm Equipment -Knowledge Base and used it, we need to safe guard these things!!!

Darin, we need help!!  Please let us help!  What are YOUR thoughts?

I'm going to start a thread and ask Darin what we can do and help with.........

All I did was right clip and "view image" and then copy it and paste it here. So it is a good size for the forum,, don't know why yours show up smaller.
