Well had a bit of a struggle with getting the 175 to purr like a kitten.  Electronics were good, carb seemed fine, 150psi of comp at each cylinder.  You can only check something so many times before you stumble and something doesnt look quite right.  Turns out the venturi in the carb is reversible.  yea, the carb goes together just fine either way i found out.  I think i had that carb off and apart about 5 times.  Live and learn i guess.  Purrs like a wild cat now.  Pics coming soon as i get the sheet metal on.

I fought my 170 for a couple of years...needed to choke it under load.  Seemed the main jet wouldn't stay in adjustment.  Finally took the main jet out and found that the seat was vibrating in and out.  Tightened it up and all was fine.  I had thought it was a warped bowl as they aren't designed to clamp together very well....
