New D17 Owner part 2 - What is this Lever?

Took off the Left side cover to re-connect a wire and found this lever.  Its just to the rear of the bell housing.  I seems to only go forward 1 "Click"  and back to the rear 1 "Click".

Didn't try it with the motor running as I have no Idea what it may or may not do.

that is the belt pulley engagement lever.  All the guts are in the torque tube, if you wanted to add a belt pulley you just need the drive housing and pulley itself. The shift rod would hook to that and come out on the lower right corner of the dash
