I started small with stuff I already knew, kept my costs low, and only took on what I could handle. Word of mouth helped more than anything getting off the ground.

Congratulations on your new endeavors. I'm sure you will be swamped with work. As you well know, a person can't find anyone to repair things these days! Anyone who is wanting to work usually has more than enough to do.
