I have an original super A 54 model you can see all the decals on it original paint and pretty tight cultivators no trans noise and a man wants to trade me a d17 Thompson diesel needs clutch not running 5900 hours and a d17 gas narrow front has a thrown rod block is still ok 2200 hours both have poor cosmetic look what the better thing to do a red one or orange one?

I would not make that trade. You know what you have but you don't know how much you need to spend on the 2 Allises. The diesels  can be a money pit.

Unless those tractors had sentimental value to me I would not make that trade.  I would keep what you got instead of getting 2 potential money pits

Agree with the above comments. I wouldn't trade a known good tractor for two money pits even if they are orange unless I needed them for parts.
Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.

Red is always better than green anyway.
