Well I got it bought. Ended up my great grandpa sold this tractor new to the original owner and I bought it from his son. So I'm only the second owner of this tractor and I've actually worked on it a few times at the shop. Sheet metal is straight as an arrow except for the usual rust on the bottom of the grill shell. Front tires are real good, will need rears sometime, duals are about the same. Fires right up and run great and seems to be a tight tractor. Only complaint so far is road speed is terrible and I run alot of miles to rented ground. Need to throw a cab kit in it and thought about trying to polish it up and see how it looks. This is the only picture I have of it so far, right after I got it home.

looks good. some polish will make it look great! I have one and love it, its got 18.4x38's and i'd say it runs about 20 wide open. depends what you're used to, some of these new ones that go 30 mph would seem like the tortis & the hare if u go from one to the other! lol |

You will love that tractor.
Those rears look undersized, and near the end. throw some 20.8x38s on there and go to town.

They are 18.4 38's. I want to keep that size for planting and side dressing. Thought about maybe going to 42 inch tall rears though? I plan on waxing it up and seeing how it looks. I'll have to look at the SN.

I've side dressed one time with 20.8's on a tractor and that was the first and last time I would do it. We just have too many hills and curves to work with and you end up running some corn over. I just put it in the shop last night to start getting it ready to go for side dressing. Also have about 27 acres of ground I need to disk so I plan on using it to get a feel for it.

18.4 x 38 are more versitile and needed if you're on 30" rows but 20.8's get you down the road about 3 mph faster. 42's would be great but hard to justify the cost to convert.

We farmed a lot of side hills in central Nebraska, never had an issue running over rows, we ran 36" rows, what are you running?

Orange Blood,
Run 20.8-38's on 30" corn rows with just a few small hills, planting and sidedressing. I agree with the problem on curves and steeper hills, I only think in MY world sometimes.
