It does work really well, but I ask this, how many stumps can you back up to with a 250+ HP tractor, that weighs over 10000lbs, and the home owner won't mind the ruts??? :-)

An 8100 is a 180 hp tractor. And as far as the weight, probably is no more than a backhoe. If the ground is fit, should be no ruts.

I like it but I also wonder why it takes such a big tractor. It sure did shake that JD around though.
Also, what about if the center of the stump is rotten? It looks like the screw pulls it in so does it have enough down pressure to work?
Still, I like the idea. It's better than those stump grinders that go fast and look dangerous.

The screw might help guide it but doubt it creates all the downforce. As far as regular stump grinding with chain type carbide tooth chain or blade type with carbide tips I dont think the tractor would leave much more compaction.
Have taken a lot of stumps out with TLB and the bucket causes more dammage than the tractor weight does.

I watched some other videos and looks like the machine is hard mounted to the tractor. If the rams are two way then it has down pressure.

You can see him putting on down pressure near the end when it gets down to dirt.
Can't help but think of Wyle E Coyote scenario ifn it would stick. Tractor going round and round, driver with surprised look every time he passes by.

How long does that blade stay sharp so you cut nicely?? On pine or rotted stumps no biggie, but fresh cut oak? After hitting rocks it wont work so hot.
