Remember Cat also owns Perkins and all their small machines have Cat/Perkins engines in them.  I guess I'm out of the loop as far as Cat engines not being popular anymore.  They also quit selling Cat trucks but I don't see the price of them dropping more then any other brand.  I've always thought Cat equipment was over priced, but they are like JD, in this case if it's Cat yellow, it's the best.  I do think Cat spends a lot on technology and are trying to stay ahead of the competition.

Calling them Perkapillers here!!  Cat trucks were essentially modified Corn Queen Internationals so is a OK parts supply yet for larger components, small unique to chassis CAT parts are already lean to non existent here.

Cat stopped production of On Highway engines around the 2010 mark and Tier 3 that was already a warranty mess.

speaking of cat trucks...i've watched 2 of them drive past my place all last week, dump trucks they were. haven't seen them this week so they must have got the job done. i'd never seen them before, kinda looked like the sterlings grill with the word CAT in the center. no name on the sides, so i don't know where they came out of or who owns them.
