Talked to DJ for a few moments yesterday, he hasn't been on here much at all because he is haven computer win10 issues and the slobs that created it keep sending him updates and it screws his puter up real bad... and he uses a little tablet or something to read on here but does not post with it. Joyce is a little weak and has started rehab and is up to 4 30 minute sessions a day now... A slow process I am sure. Was hoping them computer greeks would have finally got his machine up and running by today, evidently they are just making programs to screw stuff up for the users. Hope ye gets your puter fixed today there Joe... so's you can post again and keep ol' Shamers in line.

First is "THANKS" to all youse guys!!!! Wife is doin good progress but still gets periods of depression because of the missing foot, but she is determined to get home. I still fightin Microsoft for screwin up my machine with their friggin update last week. We are scheduled for another session tomorrow mornin where the tech takes remote control of the PC.Would of done it this Am but i did not have an external hard drive to save all my files before they dump everything. I dug out the desktop i had before this one. It has win XP but i want to install Win7 on it for a " back-up. Problem is for some reason, the mouse nor the keyboard are workin,,,,???? Also not sending signal to monitor. Opened it up and blew dust and stuff out and checked all connections etc.And all looks ok. Anybody got any suggestions??? Oh and special thanks to JohnKc and Anna and Jerry and Cheryl, wife got misty eyed on receiving the cards from the nicest people in the world. |

Well,,,Got me a good update for once,,,,, I just got Mom home a few minutes ago. She managed to get out of car and onto the wheelchair with just a little help,,the nurse told me to let her do as much as possible as that will sped up her progress. She will be on Home Health care and the Physical therapists will also come to the house 3 times a week. Thas lots better than me driving to Carlsbad every day. She got right in bed and told me she wanted to sleep for 3-4 days and not be woke up every 3 hours,,,,,CHIT,,,I told her I wanted to do the same as I could prolly sleep for 3-4 days pretty easy. We will NEVER forget all youse FINE FINE folks,,,!!! She went thru some pretty serious times and I know all the prayers were doing their best,,!! We owe Ya'll mountains of THANKS,,,,,Joe & Joyce I'm gonna go take a little ,,,,,,,nap,,,,, |

Joe, glad you got her home and thanks for the update. Yes, let her do as much as she can for herself and that will speed up the recovery and she will be more confident in her abilities. Hopefully you can get some more rest now. Tell Joyce we are still praying for her and for you also.

Good to hear your lady is home and recovering. I'm sure being in a familiar place, without somebody waking you up every 3 hr to make sure you are still alive will be a nice change of pace. I would still suggest you read our posts to your self first... Thinking positive thoughts toward you both!

Joe this makes my day to read this. There is a lot to be said for sleeping in your own bed at home where you both are comfortable and I believe this will lift her spirits a bit. Prayers for you both will continue. Thanks for the update.

Joe, that there is EXCELLENT news. I was wondering the last few days how things were going. I'm sure the Mrs. wants to sleep for 3 days straight, but we know that ain't the best plan either. Gotta keep her interested, active, recovering, don't want a setback. That depression sinks in and it's hard to beat, I think back to my Mom and her stroke.
Anyway, continued prayers for continued success! Happy to hear this good progress!

Good to hear Joe. Tell Joyce to take it easy for the first night, but then get up and do as much as she can. Just don't forget to save some strength for the physical therapist when she arrives. She won't want to hear, I'm too tired from all the housework I had to catch up on. Prayers still coming. God Bless.

Well, Folks,,a bit of an update on the Wife,,,altho maybe not what we wanted to hear. The PT (Physical Therapist) that has seen her here at home has determined that she needs more targeted physical therapy in order to get to where she can have any hope of progressing to use of the prosthetics. Home Health only schedules two 1 hour sessions per week and his report is that she requires 3-4 sessions per day in order to get to where she needs to be!!!!. I have to agree with his assesment as I can see where she is not progressing as she should be. I am the one having to help her from bed to wheel chair to potty and then back,,,,and my old wore out back is telling me the PT is correct. Much as I hate to see her go back to nursing Home for more dedicated therapy, I feel it is what she needs to do to in order to have any future hopes of her progressing to use of prosthetics and eventually walking again. She had been dead set AGAINST going, but after her 5 Boys talking to her,,she has finally agreed to the obvious need. I KNOW there are several members here and all over the world that suffer from Diabetes and,,,,,SADLY,,many of those are in denial and have an attitude that " Diabetes ain't that bad" or " Just this one donut (candy bar, coke, bread) won't hurt me",,,, you need to be more truthful with yourselves and recognize DIABETES for what it is and what it does to your body AND,,, your family. DIABETES knows NO Boundries and is relentless in it's affects to people. PLEASE KNOW that if you are diabetic,,your whole life can and prolly will change quite dramatically if you don't take are of your body, NOW ,,!! OK,,I'm done,,Sorry bout the rant. I want to THANK the many, many thoughts, prayers and cards and PMs, they all help us to think we are all in this together

I know what it's like Joe to be taking care of someone. I had to do it with my Mom a few years ago. It's hard on you, but you HAVE TO PUSH her to do her therapy. My mother didn't want to, but I made her and now she is walking really darn good. If I wouldn't have pushed, she'd probably be in a wheel chair for the rest of her life.
I pray the good Lord will keep you strong and well so you'll be able to deal with all of this and keep your spirits up! God bless you and I don't know what I'd do if it wasn't for your rambling on and on and yelling at Shameless and Les and Thad and Michael and.........ah heck, now I'm getting this keyboard all ............ah never mind, just an ole mind rambling just like,,,,,,,,,,,,,aw heck,,,,,,I'm outta here. GOD BLESS! |
