What do you need? I THINK they might have used the same frame and other parts out of a Willys MB? I can't quite remember what was Allis and what was Willys. Either way it may or may not be easy to find parts.

Don't know anything about the snow tractor, but I do have several sources for Willys parts. New, used, and NOS. Let me know what you need. A few pics of this thing might help.

I think the only thing Willys was the engine and trans. Mine runs but I have not restored it yet. I bought a couple of boxes of NOS M7 parts on ebay several years ago, have not even opened the boxes to see what I have.

It has always struck me has odd that the M7 had a Willys engine. You would think that it should have had an Allis WC engine in it. Is the M7 engine the same one used in the Army Jeep? If that is the case, I can understand that it would have been easier for the Army in terms of logistics and maintanence.
So, the question I pose is this. Was the M7 engine the same as the Army Jeep engine.

Well, the snow tractor was basicly a car made to run on snow. Not really a tractor in any respect. I am not the least bit surprised that it has a Willys engine and tranny due to the vast number of them being produced for the war effort at the time. I would love to get my hands on one as I am a huge Jeep/Willys, WWII and Allis fan, and this seems to take all these interests and cram them together.

there were a couple write ups in 2 consecutive farm collector magazine issues a few months back that had a lot of good information on the M7. One of the articles was written by a gentleman from central Idaho, who still uses one frequently. I am sure that if you were to find that magazine, and look that guy up, he could tell you every thing you would ever want to know about the M7. Darrel
