Guys, help me out, a real good friend of mines Dad hit something with his plow and broke the top link mount on his 45. I searched the net this morning and all I see are "U" shaped bar stock bent to go around the shaft. Is that all there is these days? |

There’s different types and a lot of them are owner fabricated. The broken part you have is scarce and pricey when you find one. Don’t toss yours in then scrap pile before you try to weld it first. Good luck.

Those haven't been made in decades. And they were a retrofit so not many made.they ocasionaly show up on E bay last one I saw went for $250. If you put one of the U shaped ones on put a clamp on either side to keep it from sliding back and forth on the rock shaft. A good welder could fix yours it is made of cast steel so welded it'll be as strong as ever. When you get it fixed put sway chains or brace on it swimming around is what caused it to break.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

thanks guys, kinda what I thought, will pass on the info to his Dad.
Paul, I hear ya, but it’s not my place to tell a 88 year old man that has owned the tractor longer than I’ve been alive what and how to do it. I just try to help him when I can!

Take that one off. Weld it up and reinstall. If you don’t weld take it to a welder and have it done. Those are good brackets. Fix and save it.
