I am looking for some help and information from the AllisChalmers experts. I have a 1939(?) AllisChalmers Speed Patrol grader. Belonged to my late father. I don't know much about the unit. It does start and run as recently as last fall. I'd like to find a ballpark value on this, if there is a way to do so. I'd also like to sell it to someone who appreciates these and will take care of it. (I don't want to sell it on Craigslist).

Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I don't know where to start. Thanks in advance.

Tell the guys what part of Wisc you are in.... I would bet someone on this forum would be interested in purchase.

What condition are the rear tires ? What would it take to get it running before purchase ?  What problems do you know exist ?

Hi Steve,    Thanks so much for the reply. Tractor is in far northern WI, Bayfield County. Tires are in OK, shape (see pic).  I think one of the rear wheels is rusty. It does turn over, but didn't fire up. No other problems that I know of. There are not many of these around so I can't find much information on it. Does the year and model sound accurate?

Yea, nice looking tractor.. It is based on an Allis WC model.  Older tractors had a boxy fenders / tank / hood... Late 1930s, early 1940s they started making things more ROUND... That is called a STYLED unit... WC was a very common tractor.. The speed patrol was a variation of that..

I know several on this site that are much more knowlegable than me on this specific tractor.... it is somewhat rare....i would think someone would be interested, depending on the distance they need to travel.

The blade setup is not like my speed patrol or any other I have seen. The blade normally mounts on a frame attached at the front. here's a photo  of mine without the blade

I think that first one may be an aftermarket kit grader.  I seem to recall that someone made them to retro-fit to existing AC tractors...Wink

Or it might be a cobble-up...Wink

It looks pretty professional, maybe an aftermarket as Dave suggested.  As for price, I've seen them go for as little as $500 and up near $10,000 for a pristine one.  I suspect someone on the forum will need to get it and offer a reasonable price.  Sorry for your loss.
