Leyland Cypress Trees?

   Just curious if anyone of you have any experience with Leyland Cypress trees.  I planted some of these for a windbreak for cattle as they are supposed to grow faster than red ceders.  They are supposed to be drought tolerant but not sure what they consider a drought.  Ceders will die out here before they get established if it's hot and dry so I'm assuming these Leylands would be the same, but with 2-3 times the growth rate would they need water after getting established?  

Are there any pests other than bag worms that I should be concerned about?  I did put rabbit guards on them at planting(I learned that the hard way)

	Bagworms 3 favorite things to eat: LC's and Soft needled landscape shrubs, like Thuga green giants and arbor vitae. Keep a close eye on them, when the second or third generation of BW's appear,(May 15, around here) they can make LC's look like burnt off matches, in less than a week, if enough of the BW's hatch out, at the same time! Always better to plant 3 or 4 different species of evergreens, alternating, than to plant a monoculture of one species. Can't change what's already planted, but if you lose any, replace with other species, to keep the bugs guessin!

	Never thought of that Dave, I have bagworms in my cedars I planted around the feedlot 10 years ago, going to spray for them in May then again in July before there in that indestructable bag. Sadly they killed a cedar last year and after 10+ years they where finally almost getting big enough(about 8 ft) to stop some snow and provide a little windbreak. Hoping the LC's can make a windbreak a little fast, like before I'm dead

	I put Bayer BioAdvanced Tree & Shrub protect & feed around my trees every spring and it usually stops them bagworms. Kinda of expensive , I get it a Lowe's and have bought it on Amazon
