Depends on brand. The longer the better. I had a skinny Vermont American that wasn’t much good got a longer one from electrical tools area at Lowe’s and it’s been very good.

I have a set of three and am very impressed with how they drill fairly thin material in a Quanset hut project.

I see tinners use em a lot. I got a set and they cut nice round hole unlike twist bits in thin material. They don't seem to be good for material over 1/8" thick in my experience

 Ya'll know all them women advertisments hawkin all them different kinds and sizes of bras,,,I was kinda gettin some used to em,,especially thet chubby one,,,she always looked so happy,,,,,!!!And,,,,and,,I was happy for her too,,!!!ClapClap I'm thinkin she's prolly a quad-reple, double eee,,,whew,,,,
 anyway....I do pay attention to all the other advertisements and was wondering of anybody has used them step drill bits,,,are they any good and do they last any time,,??
